I think that they will get scammed just like everyone else.
Since the majority of them are scams then if they participate then they are scamming people also. So in that respect it could be considered a sin.

No, he just isn't very smart.
MLM is just another term for pyramid scheme which is illegal.

This is a true personal testimony about myself…..
Back in 1995, I was involved with Amway. I had a few big, lofty goals about not being rich, but just being well off, comfortable. I wasn't doing that bad in my regular j.o.b. But, Yah had other plans for me….
I heard the calling to come to a 'non-denominational' service held during one of their big conventions. It was then that I was born-again, and turned my heart to Yah. When I did that, my eyes were open to what these people were really doing…
1)They were causing people to COVET, in showing all the big houses and fancy cars.
2)They were causing people to BEAR FALSE WITNESS, in not disclosing the truth of the business practices.
I found out other things about the 'business', which caused me to drop out of their 'ranks'.
So, as Yah can use the evil for the good, it was an evil thing, but caused it to be used for the good in my case.
Whatever you are considering trying, look at it truthfully and see if it will cause you to commit sin, such as the above points I've given. Then you will make a WISDOM decision.

As a Christian and one who is involved in MLM, I don't consider I am doing something against God's will.
Before joining my MLM company I first joined an organisation that offers free MLM training. This organisation teaches you to evaluate an MLM company in accordance with the 5 Pillar Principles, which are guide lines for judging the integrity of a company. Because there are so many unscrupulous companies out there, you need guide lines like these to ensure you choose a legitimate company.
So, do your homework before joining any MLM company.
